Taking Back the Maldives

Taking Back the Maldives is an initiative that aims to raise awareness about neocolonialism, systematic sexism and capitalist exploitation in the Maldives. We plan to actively stop land-grabbing and corrupt international money laundering schemes in the islands. Western multinationals and governments are using Islamophobia and “democracy” as pretext for a coup. This is not a recent problem or exclusive to the Maldives, but in light of the current political climate, it’s clearer than ever that the root of the conflict is the presence and interference of western and Saudi Arabian powers.
